We will discuss how immersive technologies, such as augmented and virtual reality, are redefining multimedia storytelling, interaction, and engagement.
Bio:
Dr. Shannon Chen leads the Mixed Reality Media & Wellness team under the Reality Labs at Meta. He started as a research scientist at the company focusing on advancing the multimedia offerings in VR, MR, and AR. Before joining the industry, he graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he completed his PhD in Computer Science and his thesis winning the Outstanding PhD Thesis Award in Multimedia of the year, granted by ACM SIGMM.
